Watch SpaceX launch people into space for the first time, Lev
SpaceX is a major milestone in the company’s history, with its first manned spaceflight departing later in the day from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The mission is Commercial Crew Demo-2, a cutting-edge Crew Dragon spacecraft development program that transports NASA astronauts to Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken International Space Station.
Departure is now scheduled for takeoff from the Kennedy Space Center at 4:33 p.m. EST (13:33 PDT), although this depends on weather conditions. These haven’t felt very favorable in recent days, but SpaceX and NASA have said the call could be made about 45 minutes before the scheduled launch time to delay. If today’s business is removed, there are scheduled backups of the opportunities for May 30-31.
This is SpaceX’s first manned spaceflight
and it will go down in history as the first human missile launch in the United States. Following the end of the U.S. Space Shuttle Program in 2011. NASA began its commercial crew in 2010 in search of public and private services. Partnerships to restore their launch capabilities, eventually NASA and Boeing decide to design and develop spacecraft for human flights. SpaceX is the first to launch the crew.
The Demo-2 operation is, in fact, the final test phase for Crew Dragon, after which the missile and Falcon 9 it transports into orbit will be certified for NASA's regular operational use. This means it will begin providing regular transportation services to the astronaut crew to and from the International Space Station, and will join Soyuz as a way to travel in orbit science.
Meanwhile, SpaceX has already begun offering sidewalks in Crew Dragon to ordinary citizens, business scientists and other travelers. This is part of the reason for the launch of the commercial crew program: NASA has tried to reduce the transport of astronauts into space by placing seats for other customers who pay start-up and flight costs.
